comment: U2 makes an unannounced appearence at the festival. No full recording exists of the show, but a full handwritten setlist exists. It does not include Sunday Bloody Sunday or The Cry. Brief footage from the show broadcast by RTE, however, contains a clip of Sunday Bloody Sunday and we assume it was performed before The Electric Co., which was typical of the era. We have included The Cry with The Electric Co. because it would be highly abnormal if The Cry were not played - it had opened every performance of The Electric Co. for over four years. There is one other caveat with the above setlist: the handwritten set says Southern Man, not Knockin' On Heaven's Door. The latter has been reported by numerous sources over the years, so at present we have kept it in the setlist but please note Southern Man may have been played instead. Whatever the cover was, it was performed with Freddie White, an artist who had performed before U2's set. There are also rumours U2 played Bad. If you can provide any clarification about this setlist, do not hesitate to contact us.
