Boy Tour 1980 Leg II
North America

12/05/1980 Penny Arcade - Rochester, New York, USA
setlist not available
comment: This show was booked as U2's first concert in North America but was cancelled. The first leg was scheduled to end on 2 December, but the itinerary expanded with additional dates in France supporting Talking Heads. The second of these concerts was on 4 December and the band flew across the Atlantic the next day, likely making it logistically impossible for them to perform in Rochester as planned.

12/06/1980 The Ritz - New York, New York, USA
11 O'Clock Tick Tock, An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart, Another Time, Another Place, The Cry / The Electric Co., Twilight, The Ocean, Stories for Boys, I Will Follow
encores: Out of Control, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock
comment: Setlist is possibly incomplete. This is U2's first North American concert, but it wasn't intended to be; a concert scheduled for the Penny Arcade in Rochester, New York state the previous night is cancelled due to the late addition of concerts in France on the 1st leg. Reports on audience size vary between 25 and 150 people. U2 received a positive response from the New York audience, with reports indicating they were called back for multiple encores.

12/07/1980 Bayou Club - Washington, District of Columbia, USA
11 O'Clock Tick Tock, An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart, Another Time, Another Place, The Cry / The Electric Co., Things To Make And Do, Twilight, I Will Follow
encores: 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, Out of Control
comment: The first of 2 performances that night, opening for The Slickee Boys at 8pm. 200 people attend this concert.

12/07/1980 Bayou Club - Washington, District of Columbia, USA
11 O'Clock Tick Tock, I Will Follow, Touch, An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart, Another Time, Another Place, The Cry / The Electric Co.
encores: Out of Control, I Will Follow
comment: The second of 2 performances that night, opening for The Slickee Boys at 11pm. The set differs somewhat from their first, with Touch being added and I Will Follow being played twice. It is possible I Will Follow is played a third time in this set; a review by Capital Crisis states that it was played "two more times", though the language is unclear if it means in addition to the main set or inclusive of it. We have listed what we currently believe to be accurate.

12/08/1980 Stage One - Buffalo, New York, USA
setlist not available
comment: U2 are introduced as "V2".

12/09/1980 El Mocambo - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Give Peace a Chance
comment: U2's first concert in Canada is full of emotion after John Lennon's murder the previous night and receives very positive reviews despite being at less than half capacity. "Give Peace a Chance" is known to have closed the set, but the rest of the setlist is unknown.

12/11/1980 Mudd Club - New York, New York, USA
setlist not available

12/12/1980 Main Event - Providence, Rhode Island, USA
setlist not available

12/13/1980 The Paradise - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
11 O'Clock Tick Tock, An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart, Another Time, Another Place, The Cry / The Electric Co. / Give Peace a Chance (snippet), Things To Make And Do, Twilight, I Will Follow
encores: 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, Out of Control
comment: Roughly 150 people are in attendance for U2's set, even though the capacity is 500. Nonetheless, the crowd is very enthusiastic and calls for not just one encore (which was 11 O'Clock Tick Tock) but two (which was Out Of Control). By the time Barooga Bandit take the stage only 40 audience members are left, some of whom are U2 and their crew. This concert began U2's strong connection with the city of Boston, a "home away from home" for the band.

12/14/1980 Toad's Place - New Haven, Connecticut, USA
setlist not available
comment: U2 (billed as U-II in a newspaper advertisement) open for Barooga Bandit. Setlist is unknown but the band apparently struggled with the sound system and ended their set early.

12/15/1980 Bijou Cafe - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
setlist not available
