It would have been the first time U2 made an appearance at a non-charity festival since 1985. 06/26/2010 Glastonbury Festival - Glastonbury, England Where The Streets Have No Name comment: In lieu of U2 actually performing at Glastonbury (their headlining appearance the night before was cancelled due to Bono having back surgery), The Edge makes a guest appearance with Saturday night's headliners Muse. They cover U2's live classic Streets to open the encore. Edge plays true to his usual style; the members of Muse adeptly take on the other roles and produce a faithful cover. This is the second time a member of U2 has performed on stage at Glastonbury; Adam was first, appearing with the Hothouse Flowers in 1989. 09/04/2010 Atatürk International Airport - Istanbul, Turkey Desire comment: U2 are greeted by a large group of fans when they land in Turkey ahead of their first ever concert in the country. They mingle with the fans and Bono and Edge give a brief impromptu performance. 12/03/2010 Sidney Myer Music Bowl - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Vertigo, Desire comment: U2 make a surprise appearance at the farewell show by Australian radio hosts Hamish & Andy and perform two acoustic songs.
