comment: This is U2's first North American concert, but it wasn't intended to be; a concert scheduled for the Penny Arcade in Rochester, New York state the previous night is cancelled. Just 25 people are in attendance, but U2 received a positive response from the New York audience that thrilled Frank Barsalona, head of the Premier Talent booking agency.

comment: U2's first concert in Canada is full of emotion after John Lennon's murder the previous night and receives very positive reviews.

12/11/1980 Mudd Club - New York, New York, USA

12/12/1980 Main Event - Providence, Rhode Island, USA

12/13/1980 The Paradise - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
11 O'Clock Tick Tock, An Cat Dubh / Into The Heart, Another Time, Another Place, The Cry / The Electric Co. / Give Peace A Chance (snippet), Things To Make And Do, Twilight, I Will Follow
encores: 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, Out Of Control
comment: Roughly 150 people are in attendance for U2's set, even though the capacity is 500. Nonetheless, the crowd is very enthusiastic and calls for not just one encore (which was 11 O'clock Tick Tock) but two (which was Out Of Control). By the time Barooga take the stage, only 40 audience members are left, some of whom are U2 and their crew. This concert began U2's strong connection with the city of Boston, a "home away from home" for the band.

12/14/1980 Toad's Place - New Haven, Connecticut, USA
11 O'Clock Tick Tock
comment: Bono counts in for 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, but Larry doesn't come in because he is on the floor trying to re-position his drums, which had slid forward on some carpet. Bono believes Larry is hiding from the crowd, so he throws parts of Larry's drum kit into the crowd. Bono advances around the kit to fight Larry, and Edge punches Bono in the face. Larry runs to the dressing room as Edge and Bono fight. The gig ends early.

12/15/1980 Bijou Cafe - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
